The Issue

An industry association faced complaints from their members that premiums paid to the Workers Compensation Board were increasing.

Our Methodology

Pathfinder Group opened lines of communication with the Workers Compensation Board and determined that lost time injuries was the driving issue.

Our Solution

The WCB expressed interest in a trade association focused on safety training. Pathfinder Group gained support of all the members and created a safety certification program for that industry. Additionally, this newly formed safety association was formulated by an Order In Council, making it a law that any new members would be required to participate in the safety association. As an ancillary benefit, the working relationship between labour inspectors and member organizations greatly improved.
